The 6-4 record that the Pioneers sport may seem solid, but if you look at Sacred Heart’s schedule thus far, that record is merely a smoke screen.
Five of their six wins are against the bottom 13 teams in Division-I in Quinnipiac, Hartford, Manhattan, Wagner and Robert Morris. In addition, they lost their last two games to Hofstra and Towson by a combined score of 37-8.
What do all those numbers mean? Well, on Saturday expect the Dragon offense to finally have a big day, and the Dragons should match their win total from last season by easily nabbing their 11th win over the Pioneers.
Unfortunately, the other top teams in the conference will have to be creative if they want to find ways to lose. Delaware has Robert Morris which lost to Sacred Heart earlier this season. Towson entertains Villanova, and the Wildcats needed two overtimes to squeak past Robert Morris. Conference-leader Hofstra is off. The Dragons can slide into a first place tie with a win on Saturday.
